(ED NOTE: I started writing this on Wednesday. Obviously it is now totally outdated, but could apply to a game 7 win. Also, Salmons just bricked another jumper.)
To summarize the rather shocking win by the Bucks over Hawks last night, here are three quotes that I received via Blackberry Message from my wise younger brother (and I'm paraphrasing):
1) "The Hawks should be fucking embarrassed. They have no excuse.": This is true. On paper, the Hawks should have swept the Bucks. They have the three best players in the series. The Bucks might have one all-star caliber player. The talent difference is monumental. The Hawks just don't seem to care.
2) "Scott Skiles is the best coach the Bucks ever had.": What he has done the last week has been nothing short of amazing. This collection of cast-offs and corpses has no business even being in the playoffs, much less being on the verge of winning a series. What is going to happen when Hammond's plan comes to fruition in 2011 and he has some actual talent to work with? Basketball (at least this week) appears to be back in Milwaukee, and it is thanks to Skiles getting the most out of the best Hammonds could do. Lets just hope he doesn't wear out his welcome.
3) "Fuck the Hawks": Agreed. Josh Smith is a prick.
OTHER THINGS
-The Brewers are not playing well. At all.
-Beer Review: "Moon Man No Coast Pale Ale" by New Glarus. Pretty fucking good.

My Brain Has Been Violated
I watched the two hour "Lost" premier last night. "Lost" is probably my favorite show, or at least it is in the conversation. It is like watching a movie every week. It is generally amazing. But I am just completely lost on Lost. I just have no idea what the fuck is going on, or what is supposed to be going on, or what is going to happen next. It is just a lot of work to watch the show, even though the two hours went by in what felt like 15 minutes. Has my brain been turned to mush? Shouldn't I appreciate a show that isn't made for total idiots? (See 98% of America?). I guess I'm just frustrated because I know this is the last season and I'm supposed to be getting "answers" to the "questions". I'm just not sure I know what the questions are, or how the answers could possibly satisfy me. The whole two hours last night just seemed like one random occurrence after another, all of which made me say "What the fuck?". I'm not going to give anything away because some may have chosen to DVR, but in one episode we have dealt with: time travel, possible alternate realities, talking to dead people, seeing dead people, Christ figures, raising the dead and transferring of souls. I have this uneasy feeling that we are on a runaway train that is going to come to an abrupt, unsatisfying stop. I don't see any way that the finale isn't going to leave me disappointed. My brain was raped last night. I'm sure my brother has some fascinating theories because he is alot smarter about these kinds of things than I am.
I missed out on one of the best Badger performances ever, the ass kicking of Michigan St. This was mostly due to my decision that the "Lost" premier was slightly more important in the grand scheme of things. That, and by the time I caught up to lost in real time, our fucking DVR was also recording "Teen Mom" (seriously). I followed the score on my BlackBerry, but I missed out. Impressive win though. When Leuer comes back, I would not want to play Bucky.
ONE OTHER RANDOM THOUGHT
I've heard that the NCAA is more than seriously considering expanding the basketball tourney to 96 teams, and spreading out coverage to cable as well. I'm really not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I think it is perfect right now. On the other hand, you can't ever have too much of a good thing. I fear it will turn getting to the "Big Dance" into making a "Bowl Game". Unless you really suck balls, you would get in. I guess it would allow more teams to win, but unless they place some kind of rules on qualification (nobody under .500 in conference unless you are a conference champion) then what is the point? Is it just an excuse to make sure that a shitty UNC team can go 7-9 in a pretty tough ACC and get in? Or is it to not fuck over deserving mid-majors that win 25 games and get left out? I'm leaning towards staying the course (except for changing the play-in game to be for a 12 seed between the last two in) until I see some other details. Also, how strange would the tourney on TNT be???

Nashville Is Nice This Time Of Year
My brother has demanded that I write a Manny Parra post. So I will sort of. It is about time something has been done, and I'm glad it was done. I continue to be impressed with the attitude management has with non-performance. I can't help but think that Ken Macha has alot to do with this, because obviously the attitude is alot different that when Neddy was managing. I'm convinced Manny would have been given another chance or three to "pitch out of it" under Neddy. I'm curious what is going to happen with the rotation. I guess there are enough off days built in for the next few weeks that we don't need that fifth starter. I would presume McClung will be stuck in there, although I think one or two of the randoms just called up are starters too. I think Manny has the tools to be a really good pitcher, but think his head is fucked up. Hopefully this will fix it because we need a decent lefty starter.
I watched Manny's destruction from the emergency room yesterday. I had been experiencing slurred speech of the non-alcohol variety for about a week, and finally it got so bad that my wife couldn't understand me, and co-workers were giving me strange looks. A call to urgent care told us to get our asses to the hospital. According to the doomsday website that is WebMD, I was certainly on death's door. Having either a stroke or a brain tumor. Luckily is wasn't either one, it was some kind of random malady that should go away with time. The nerves in my face are inflamed, which gives some symptoms of a stroke, but should work itself out. No known cause or cure for this shit, so I have to continue to sound like a moron.
In other news, I am now one of those dickheads with a Blackberry. All in all it is pretty goddamn cool. It isn't quite an iPhone, but as I stated, I'll be damned if I'm paying for less than optimal performance due to lack of a 3G AT&T network in GB, so I'll make due. I'm pretty excited to sit at my wife's grandparents anniversary party and check the Brewer game constantly. Fully expect to see a photo of my dick show up in your inbox.

Finals Preview, Diets and iPhones
- I will force myself to watch every NBA Finals game because it is my duty as someone who calls myself a sports fan. Even though I suspect I won't like it much. I dislike the Lakers, and will be rooting for the Magic, but if I had to bet I would take the Lakers.
- My wife is out of town for work for the next two days. It gives us both an excuse to fuck up our diets and eat out. Of course, when she eats out, it is inevitably a salad. I am personally trying to go out of my way to gain all 30 pounds back in two days. Last night I got one of those Bread Bowl Pasta things from Domino's, and it was quite possibly the best 1400 calories I have ever eaten. I was physically ill afterwords, and it was great.
- SportsBottle, Ricky and any one else with an iPhone can shove them up their asses. I am getting a new phone in a few weeks, and would totally get an iPhone except that AT&T has deemed Green Bay not important enough to have 3G, and I'm not about to fuck around with worse than dial up cell phone Internet and pay an arm and a leg to do it. Plus, I already have two iPods, so alot of the point of the extra money would be wasted. But I do hope to be a faggot with Blackberry so I can do nothing but sit around and text/send emails/surf the internets at all social events, because everyone else does anyway, so why even bother fighting it.
-RE: Marlins comment. I won't argue at all about the history of the Marlins. They've done a shitload of cool things. But 1,000 people at a game. Fucking embarrassing.
